The Cape Peninsula is a popular day road trip for locals and tourists alike. Highlights include the scenic drive along Chapmans Peak, the dramatic shorelines of Cape Point, a stop for fish and chips in Hout Bay, and a visit to the penguins at Boulders Beach just outside Simons Town before returning to Cape Town.
Flanked by Devil’s Peak and Lion’s Head, Table Mountain marks the northern end of the Cape Fold Mountain range, which runs like a spine from north to south through the Cape Peninsula. There are more than 2,200 species of plants and 1,470 floral species found on Table Mountain, many of which are endemic to the area, and form part of the Cape Floral Region, the richest yet smallest floral kingdom on earth.

All 18 holes have been designed to fit the contours of the land.

Shamwari Private Game Reserve was born of a need to conserve the land and its abundant wildlife, birdlife and ecological diversity. Shamwari is home to five of South Africa’s seven biomes, making it a destination unlike any other.
Because of Shamwari’s conservation efforts, Shamwari has officially been declared a Protected Environment. Today Shamwari comprises of 7 luxury lodges and one explorer camp, two different education and rehabilitation facilities and employs over 325 local staff.
The land and buildings have been restored to their rightful state with the stunning Eastern Cape fauna and flora of yesteryear and the reserve today flourishes with wildlife.
