2026 Women’s Blue Mountains Self Drive Golf Tuition Weekend

Just two hours west of Sydney, the Blue Mountains is one of the great weekend escapes, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape of sandstone escarpments and eucalypt valleys, with crisp mountain air, open fires and three of the friendliest golf courses in New South Wales. Join us from 6 to 8 November 2026.
Your host for the weekend is Teaching Professional Amy Chu. Amy picked up the game at twelve, played her way through junior and state representative golf in New South Wales, then earned a scholarship to Washington State University before turning professional and competing across Australia and the United States. She plays off a +2 handicap at The Australian. What brings her to this weekend, though, is something else entirely: “I enjoy helping grow the game of golf by encouraging more women to get involved and creating more opportunities for them.”

You don’t need a low handicap to come along, just a willingness to have a go. The weekend is built around enjoyment and confidence rather than scorecards, and it suits every level, whether you’ve been playing for thirty years or picked up a club last season. You’ll be based the whole time at the 4-star Fairmont Resort & Spa Blue Mountains, so you unpack once and settle in.
The golf is spread across three courses: 11 holes at Leura Golf Club, 18 holes at Wentworth Falls Golf Club and 9 holes at Springwood Golf Club. Amy runs a clinic before each round, working through one clear idea at a time so you can take it straight out onto the course while it’s still fresh. She then floats between the groups as you play, offering tips, demonstrations and on-course tuition where each of you needs it most, which, as anyone who has done one of these weekends will tell you, is where the real improvement happens.
There’s plenty of time left over, too. Book a treatment at the Fairmont’s day spa, walk out to the Three Sisters at Echo Point, browse the galleries and antique shops along the Leura mall, or settle in somewhere warm for a long lunch. The weekend opens with a welcome high tea and a drinks function, and there’s a welcome gift waiting for you in your room.

A +2 handicap player from The Australian Golf Club, Amy brings a standout junior and state career, a US college golf scholarship, and years of high-level competitive experience. She combines a calm, disciplined on-course presence with a genuine passion for helping women feel more confident and comfortable on the course, blending performance, fitness and fun into every session. You’ll enjoy this wonderful introduction over an indulgent High Tea; delight in a selection of sandwiches, traditional homemade scones with fresh cream and conserve, decadent sweet treats, and rich loose-leaf La Maison Du Thé.
Leura Golf Club is set in the midst of the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park. Established in 1902, itis the oldest course in the Blue Mountains and players are presented with the most spectacular views of the Jamison Valley while enjoying a round of golf.

The course has been thoughtfully designed to blend harmoniously with the undulating landscape and natural bush setting, creating a challenging yet enjoyable experience for golfers of all abilities. Despite not being exceptionally long, the layout features the Blue Mountains’ toughest slope rating at 126 for men and 128 for women, making every round engaging and rewarding.
