There’s no such thing as wrong weather in Scotland, just the wrong choice of clothing. Being prepared is the key to making the most of your time at the Home of Golf.
The weather in Scotland can change very quickly, so dressing in layers, and having a good sent of reliable and windproof wet weather golf gear is key to having the most enjoyable round.
A thermal top is always a good idea to pack. You may not need it, but if the forecast changes and you get a cold snap, you’ll be so glad you brought this with you.
Always pack more socks than you think you need, and at least two pairs of waterproof golf shoes are a good idea. Having wet feet, is never fun, and the only thing worse, is putting wet shoes on at the beginning of the day.
At least two pairs of waterproof golf gloves, and a couple of woollen hats or beanies for golf are essential.
As most of the golf courses in Scotland are walking courses, it is very handy to pack an occy strap or bungee cord to help strap your travel golf bag onto a pull trolley. Most travel golf bags are much slimmer than an everyday golf bag, and a strap will help keep your golf bag secure in the pull trolley.
