The challenging, Robert Trent Jones Sr designed par-72 Blue Course spanning 6,205 meters, is a regular host of the prestigious Moroccan Open. Morocco’s King Hassan II – a real golf enthusiast – commissioned American-based architect Robert Trent Jones to design Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in the late 1960s on a massive 1,000-acre site. This is literally a course fit for royalty. The tingle of anticipation, which every true golfer feels on approaching a course, begins at Rabat with a salute from the guard at the imposing mosaic gatehouse. Apart from the customary splashed bunkers, doglegged fairways and raised greens to be found on most of his layouts, he also shipped in some Roman column ruins – found between holes 11 and 12 – from the ancient city of Volubilis. The signature hole on the property is undoubtedly the par three 9th where the tee shot has to carry a lily pond, complete with wading flamingos, to a shallow island green surrounded by flowers and trees – definitely one for the camera.

Two of Rabat’s most significant historical sites, the 12th century Hassan Tower and Mohammed V Mausoleum, sit next to each other at one of the highest points of the city. The never-completed tower was intended to be the tallest minaret in the world. Even at a modest 44 meters it’s still an imposing sight, which has been watching over the city for eight centuries. The adjacent white marble mausoleum, with red-uniformed royal guards on each of the four entrances, contains the tombs of the Moroccan king Mohammed V and his two sons. This monument is more than a burial site; it is a tribute to Arabic-Islamic art that showcases all the charms of this heritage.
Perched above the sea and the river, the Kasbah of the Udayas, is Rabat’s historic citadel, and another a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A haven of tranquillity, with its flower-filled little streets, Andalusian garden, and Moorish café, the Kasbah of the Udayas is one of the most unique and beautiful sites in Morocco.
We’ll also venture into the bustling heart of Rabat—the Medina, a labyrinth of narrow lanes teeming with shops, vendors, and colourful markets. We’ll immerse ourselves in the vibrant tapestry of daily life in Rabat, soak in the bustling atmosphere, and browse for souvenirs, spices, and traditional handicrafts amidst the lively ambiance of the Medina. Unveiled in October 2014, the Tazegzout golf course spans across 190 acres that sits 250 feet above the Atlantic Sea. This Par 72 course stretches over 6730 metres, offering a challenging yet rewarding experience for all golfers. The course winds its way through the natural Argan vegetation, gradually building up to a thrilling climax on the last three holes (a par four then a short par three followed by a par five) which are played out along the edge of an impressive 80-metre cliff. Nestled amidst the picturesque setting of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains, Assoufid Golf Club features a, par-72 course that winds through a distinctive desert landscape with natural undulations. The par four 5th is one of the toughest holes on the card. Played from an elevated tee, its fairway is flanked on either side by desert as it rises directly towards the Atlas Mountains. The tee for the par three 17th is located at the highest point on the course – offering panoramic views of all the holes on the back nine – and it’s the starting point for the signature hole at Assoufid. Tee shots must carry a natural dry stream (called a shaaba) that runs through the course before reaching a wide but shallow green protected by bunkers to the front and rear.

The Championship course measures 5,976 metres from the back markers and it’s a beautifully bunkered layout with distinctive banked sand traps and a smattering of water-laden holes. The par five 3rd is a real feature hole, dog legging left to a two-tiered green that also tilts from right to left. The prestigious Championship Course, has been a host venue for renowned tours such as the Ladies European Tour. With expansive fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and challenging greens, this course offers a rewarding yet accessible challenge, as it winds through gorgeous landscaped gardens, decorative lakes and eucalyptus forest.

The pink city, or “Al Hamra” in local parlance, tantalizes its visitors with a heady mix of bohemian high culture and the rural earthiness of the villages. Nestled amidst the picturesque setting of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains, Assoufid Golf Club features a, par-72 course that winds through a distinctive desert landscape with natural undulations. The par four 5th is one of the toughest holes on the card. Played from an elevated tee, its fairway is flanked on either side by desert as it rises directly towards the Atlas Mountains. The tee for the par three 17th is located at the highest point on the course – offering panoramic views of all the holes on the back nine – and it’s the starting point for the signature hole at Assoufid. Tee shots must carry a natural dry stream (called a shaaba) that runs through the course before reaching a wide but shallow green protected by bunkers to the front and rear.
