Boasting breathtaking vistas overlooking Edinburgh, the Firth of Forth, and beyond, this course offers one of the most cherished golfing experiences worldwide.  As a testament to its quality, Gullane No. 1 has been the esteemed venue for several prestigious tournaments, including the Scottish Open, the Ladies Scottish Open, and as a Final Qualifying course for the Open Championship on multiple occasions.

Muirfield, in conjunction with The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers, reigns supreme in the realm of exceptional golf and a storied historical background. With a remarkable track record of hosting The Open Championship on sixteen occasions, Muirfield offers a golfing experience of unparalleled prestige. 
Founded in 1744, The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers holds the esteemed title of being the second oldest golf club globally, credited with crafting the original 13 rules of golf. Through the passage of time, these rules have evolved, reflecting the evolution of the sport. Upon their relocation from the bustling Musselburgh links to Muirfield in 1891, the club brought with them the esteemed duty of hosting The Open Championship.

The Renaissance Club is an exclusive private members club, that is almost as well known for its hot tub, halfway house and premium service, as it is for hosting the Scottish Open. This club, nestled on 300 acres of the famous golfing coastline of the Firth of Forth, has been the host of the Scottish Open, since 2019, and is a qualifying venue for The Open Championship.  Designed by acclaimed course architect Tom Doak, holes 9 to 11 connect the course to the coastline, and the par 4 10th is a dramatic highlight with its ribbon thin fairway and fiercely tilted green sitting tight along the edge of the cliffs, high above the Firth of Forth.

Or if relaxation is more your thing, you could book a sumptuous facial or spa treatment in a soothing haven from everyday stresses, where the welcome is warm, the spirits are lifted, and the pursuit of balance is the only option on the menu.

• VIP Whiskey Distillery Experience

This morning, after a world class breakfast, and the morning spent exploring Edinburgh at your leisure, you will check out of your luxury accommodation at the Waldorf Astoria. We will then transfer, by private coach to St Andrews and one of Scotland’s best distilleries, for a VIP Whiskey distillery tour.

There are over 120 active distilleries spread across Scotland, which are split into five whisky-producing regions; Campbeltown, Highland, Islay, Lowland and Speyside. Where a whisky is made can have a huge bearing on its flavour, everything from the source of the water to the presence of peat in the local area will come through in the taste.  Today, we will be visiting one of Scotland’s best distilleries, for a distillery tour and tasting.

Transfer to St Andrews

Bordering the renowned 17th Road Hole of the Old Course, the 5 Star Old Course Hotel overlooks the famous links courses and the West Sands Beach. This prestigious Five Star hotel is recognised as one of Europe’s leading resorts. The hotel offers fine dining in the Road Hole Restaurant, and light, informal dining in the Sands Grill. Alternatively, the hotel’s own golfing pub, the Jigger Inn, serves real ale and traditional food. The Kohler Waters Spa facilities include a swimming pool, whirlpool, sauna and steam rooms, weights and fitness rooms. The town centre is only a short walk from the hotel.  Step back in time down the storied cobbled streets of St Andrews, to explore ancient castles, stately homes, and the third oldest university in the English-speaking world.

Carnoustie Golf Links is one of the world’s most iconic courses, and home to ‘Golf’s Greatest Test’. Golf has been played at the Links since the 16th century and it was Carnoustie locals who went on to establish the Professional Golfer’s Associations of America and Australia. Carnoustie has played host to the world’s oldest major, The Open Championship, eight times. Most recently, with Francesco Molinari becoming the 2018 Champion Golfer of the Year.

• St Andrews Links Castle Course – 18 Holes with Pull Buggy

The newest addition to St Andrews Links, The Castle Course opened in 2008 becoming the seventh course at the Home of Golf and part of the largest public golfing complex in Europe. Set on a rugged cliff-top with spectacular views over St Andrews, The Castle Course is not easy, but it is easily the most visually intimidating of the St. Andrews Links courses. The greens at this course are almost insanely undulating, and was purposely built to be a completely different experience from the other course St Andrews courses.
