The Châteaux course was voted Best Course in France in 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018 by the World Golf Awards. It is currently ranked #9 in France. Bill Coore’s design respects the tradition of Scottish links with its wide fairways lined with heather, gorse and broom. One of the best holes is the 11th, where a stream crosses the fairway, then runs all the way up the left to the rear of the green, punishing both stray drives and wayward approach shots.

This exceptional course unfolds in a valley fringed by centenary oak trees, framed by vineyards and located just 6 miles from the village of Saint Emilion, a UNESCO world heritage site. Currently ranked #22 in France, this Tom Doak’s designed course has undulating greens and fairways, that follow the natural contours of the land, giving each hole its unique challenge.

This morning, spend time exploring the gorgeous UNESCO listed city of Bordeaux. The city is filled with classical and neoclassical architecture, and is home to more than 350 structures that are nationally or regionally listed Historical Monuments (Monuments Historiques). Le Miroir d’Eau – the water mirror, is facing the Place de la Bourse, and a beautiful marvel, worthy of a photo or two. Port de la Lune (Port of the Moon) is the nickname given to the crescent-shaped Port of Bordeaux along the Garonne River. Stretching from the Quai de Bacalan to the Quai de Paludate in the centre of the city, the Port of the Moon incorporates the Place de la Bourse and the Quays Market. Lined with quaint boutiques, chic bars and restaurants, it’s a beautiful and classy area to wander around.
Visit to a Bordeaux Châteaux with wine-tasting
A trip to Bordeaux would not be complete without a visit and tasting at a Bordeaux Châteaux and winery. This world-famous wine region is home to some of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in the world.
The designated red grape varieties in Bordeaux are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Carmenere. Wines from this region set a benchmark for winemakers around the world.

Tonight is yours to do as you like. After the wine tour this afternoon, and your explorations of Bordeaux this morning, you may just feel like finding a little brasserie or bar à vin with trendy stools, cool interiors and fabulous small plates to enjoy.

With its impressive architecture, delicious restaurants and remarkably nice people, there will be time for you to stroll the narrow paved streets of the city centre to absorb the charm of Vieux Cognac (the old Cognac). With almost 200 Cognac producers in the area, we will be enjoying a tasting at one of the region’s top cognac houses, which will include a tour of the distillery and vats.
Overnight at Hôtel Le Clos d’Amboise – Standard Room
This is a sumptuous 17th century house converted into a charming hotel in 2003 and upgraded into a 20 room, luxury hotel in 2011, while retaining its character. Everything which speaks of the house’s history and gives it its character has been conserved: the floor of the reception hall with its cabochon tiling, the staircase serving the upper floors, and the magnificent 18th century Versailles oak parquet in two salons. Hotel Le Clos d’Amboise is located in the very heart of the Royal City of Amboise, in the picturesque historic part of the city that contains France’s first chateau, and Leonardo da Vinci’s residence, the Clos Lucé.

Located in the heart of the Chateaux of the Loire, Amboise is gorgeously situated on the southern bank of the Loire, guarded by a soaring château, with some seriously posh hotels, outstanding dining and cosmopolitan shopping streets. Amboise, known for its links to the French royal family and its connection and final resting place of Leonardo da Vinci. Today, choose to wander its charming, pretty alleyways along the river Loire, at your own pace. Or you may like to enjoy the option to visit the Château de Chenonceau, a French château spanning the river Cher, near the small village of Chenonceaux, for a self-guided audio tour.

Like the crisp, bright wines for which the Loire Valley is famous, Les Aisses has a distinctive character. Currently ranked #8 in France, this is a truly striking golf course which has been cut out of ancient woodland to provide large fairways and generous greens. The combination of its bold bunkering with the wispy heather is phenomenal. The variety is admirable, with some standout holes that linger in your memory. The holes meander amidst the moors, ponds and woods which make the courses varied, enjoyable and challenging.
Transfer to Paris
In the 6th arrondissement, this truly Parisian, family-run 1920s hotel is poised between the vibrant realms of St Germain des Prés and Montparnasse, and has been managed by the same family for three generations. This district is a Parisienne favourite for its atmosphere and classy shopping.

Walk down the cobblestoned streets of Saint Germain, marvel at Notre Dame, climb the Eiffel Tower or just wander around the many arrondissements of Paris, stopping at one of the countless cafés for a Café au lait with a pain au chocolat. Visit the Musée Rodin to see The Thinker, The Louvre to see Mona Lisa or the Cimetière du Père-Lachaise to see Chopin, Jim Morrison, Edith Piaf or Oscar Wilde.

Reims is the birthplace of one of our best earthly delights, Champagne! Though many wine-growing regions in France produce sparkling wines, only the bubbly beverage from this region can be called Champagne.
Today, we visit two of France’s oldest and most impressive Champagne Houses, Taittinger and Veuve Clicquot.

Currently ranked #3 in France, the holes on the Vineuil Course are generally set well back from the surrounding forest, and routed across a gently undulating pasture with attractive fairways lined by waving fescues.

The Grand Course at Saint Germain is currently ranked #5 in France, and the club has hosted the French Open nine times. It’s a stunning parkland course that flows through avenues of majestic trees. Saint Germain is a thinking golfer’s course where one must plot their way round the property, avoiding the strategically placed bunkers and steering clear of the trees that line every fairway and shelter every green. The 444 yard par four 14th hole features in the book “500 world’s greatest golf holes” by author George Peper.

Welcome to the runway model of cities! Today you have a full day to explore the city that inspired everyone from Hemingway to Balzac. Walk down the cobblestoned streets of Saint Germain, marvel at Notre Dame, climb the Eiffel Tower or just wander around the many arrondissements of Paris, stopping at one of the countless cafés for a Café au lait with a pain au chocolat. Visit the Musée Rodin to see The Thinker, The Louvre to see Mona Lisa or the Cimetière du Père-Lachaise to see Chopin, Jim Morrison, Edith Piaf or Oscar Wilde.
Evening at Leisure
After your day discovering Paris, you may have found made your own discovery of the perfect bustling bistro for your steak frites, so feel free to make your own arrangements, but if you’d like company for dinner, you’re always welcome to join our host.

Reims is the birthplace of one of our best earthly delights, Champagne! Though many wine-growing regions in France produce sparkling wines, only the bubbly beverage from this region can be called Champagne.
Today, we visit two of France’s oldest and most impressive Champagne Houses, Taittinger and Veuve Clicquot.

Golf de Chantilly, originally founded in 1909 has played host to numerous French Opens. The Vineuil course is a true aristocrat of French golf. Set in the rolling countryside of Picardie and surrounded by the enchanting Chantilly Forest, the prestigious Golf de Chantilly is one of France’s (and Europe’s) truly great golf clubs. Currently ranked #3 in France, the holes on the Vineuil Course are generally set well back from the surrounding forest, and routed across a gently undulating pasture with attractive fairways lined by waving fescues.

The Grand Course at Saint Germain is currently ranked #5 in France, and the club has hosted the French Open nine times. It’s a stunning parkland course that flows through avenues of majestic trees. Saint Germain is a thinking golfer’s course where one must plot their way round the property, avoiding the strategically placed bunkers and steering clear of the trees that line every fairway and shelter every green. The 444 yard par four 14th hole features in the book “500 world’s greatest golf holes” by author George Peper.
