Why is September a great time to play golf in Italy?
September marks the start of Italy’s second prime golfing season, offering warm days without the height of summer’s heat, longer shadows across the fairways, and some of the clearest Alpine light of the year over Lake Como and Lake Maggiore.
Is the September tour the same itinerary as the June 2027 tour?
Yes. The September 2027 departure follows the identical 12-day itinerary as our June 2027 Italian Lakes District Golf Getaway, the same six rounds at Villa d’Este Golf Club, Castelconturbia Golf Club, Club Bergamo L’Albenza, Castello di Tolcinasco Golf & Country Club, Bogogno Golf Resort, and Carimate Golf Club, and the same route through Milan, Lake Como and Lake Maggiore.
What’s the weather like in Northern Italy in September?
September in the Lakes District typically brings mild, sunny days in the low-to-mid 20s°C, cooler evenings perfect for aperitivo on the water, and less humidity than the peak of summer, ideal conditions for both golf and sightseeing.
Is September quieter than the June departure?
Generally, yes. September falls just after the peak European summer travel period, so guests typically enjoy quieter courses, more relaxed lakeside towns, and easier tee time access at exclusive clubs like Villa d’Este.
Does September align with any special local events or seasons?
September coincides with the start of the grape harvest (vendemmia) across Northern Italy’s wine regions, adding an extra layer of authentic culinary experiences to the tour’s food and wine focus.
Can non-golfing partners join the September tour?
Absolutely. As with our June departure, non-golfing partners can enjoy Lake Como and Lake Maggiore boat cruises, guided walking tours of Milan, and Italy’s food, wine and shopping while the group plays.
Is this a small group tour?
Yes. Golf & Tours runs this as a luxury small group golf tour, with the same fully escorted format, hotels and inclusions as the June departure.
